Great for trout

These make a great jig for trout. I shorten the head by about 1/2 inch using a circular cutter to fit either a 1/16 or 1/8 oz. round head jig. I then super glue the body to the jig head. The Motor Oil Fire with an orange head has been the best by far. It outproduces marabou jigs and at times is an absolute killer. It can be jigged in the water column or worked slowly on the bottom. Motor Oil Fire also works well with a black or olive head. The description doesn't mention it but the Motor Oil (don't know about the other colors) is loaded with salt. I'm convinced trout hold a salted bait in their mouth longer and it reduces missed strikes.
